Mark 2:3-4
And they brought to Jesus a paralytic, carried by four men. And when they could not get near him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him. When they had made an opening, they let down the bed on which the paralyzed man lay.

Guatemala volcano eruption
Jalapa is 100 miles from the volcano, so the clinics and churches there were not affected directly by the recent eruption. However, Ishmael, one of our translators who lives in Antigua, has experienced a horrible tragedy. Twenty of his wife's family lived at the base of the volcano and perished. Some of our volunteers have contributed to an offering to help the survivors, and this will be sent next week. Please pray for Ishmael, his wife, and her family in these difficult days.

Did you know?
1) Lilian, our nurse at Los Laureles, is beginning to learn English on Saturday mornings.
2) Patty, a faithful worker at the Jalapa churches, has joined the office staff at the clinic.
3) The clinic at Los Pinos will open weekly from Monday through Saturday beginning in October. We are in the process of enlisting a team of nurses and office workers for the clinic.
4) Through Operation Amalia, babies at the dump are continuing to receive diaper care and supplies each week.
5) Every month, through the generous donations of so many people, the clinic's pharmacy is restocked, the clinic staff is compensated, and the clinic utilities are paid.
6) The average cost of treating one patient in May and June at Los Laureles was only $5.50.
7) Each $125 donated pays for a whole day at one of the clinics.
8) Through the compassionate efforts of one of our volunteers, progress is being made toward purification of the water supply in the communities of Los Laureles and Los Pinos. Please pray for these efforts!

Looking ahead to 2019
...If 100 people were to donate $1000 (less than $85 per month) in 2019, both the Los Laureles and the Los Pinos clinics would be completely funded for the year.

...If 150 people were to donate $1000 in 2019, both the Los Laureles and the Los Pinos clinics would be completely funded for the year AND the dream of a third clinic (possibly in Haiti) would become possible.

...If 200 people were to donate $1000 in 2019, both the Los Laureles and the Los Pinos clinics would be completely funded for the year, the dream of a third clinic in Haiti would become possible, AND the door would open to new and wonderful ministry opportunities (details to be revealed later).

Next month: words from our volunteers
