HAITI UPDATE
Due to the presence of political unrest in Haiti and the absence of an in-country coordinator at this time, the start-up date for a clinic has been postponed. If all goes as planned, a clinic will be established there in about two years. Until then, relationships will continue to be developed with the church and Christian school there. Please continue to pray for open doors and for wisdom in how and when to enter them.

CLINIC-ON-WHEELS
UPDATE
The concept of a Four Friends mobile clinic in Guatemala continues to evolve. There are up to 15 communities adjacent to Jalapa that could be serviced with such a mobile unit. In this way, medical care and the gospel message could reach many more people in the area. Details of the mobile clinic are now being addressed, and during next April‘s mission trip there will be a trial run of a clinic-on-wheels. If all goes as planned, a one-year commitment to a mobile unit will ensue next summer, after which its long-term viability will be assessed. Again, pray for God’s guidance and wisdom in this matter.

12 THINGS TO REMEMBER
ABOUT FOUR FRIENDS INTERNATIONAL:
- The goal of Four Friends International is both medical care and church support.
- Four Friends International presently has clinics in two communities near Jalapa, Guatemala -- one at Los Laureles and another at Los Pinos.
- Both clinics are adjacent to and supported by local Guatemalan churches.
- All medical care, including medications, is provided free, in the name and with the love of Christ.
- In 2019, fifteen thousand patients will be treated at the two clinics.
- The cost of delivering this care (which includes medications, utilities, clinic staff, and taxes) is only $6.50 per patient. Therefore, each $100 donation provides care for 15 patients.
- A seven-member Advisory Board oversees the ministry of Four Friends International. Each of the board members has traveled at least once to Jalapa on a medical mission trip.
- There are no paid administrators of Four Friends International. Other than required insurance and taxes, 100% of donated funds are directed to medical care at the clinics.
- Operation Amalia, a ministry of Four Friends International, provides diaper hygiene and supplies each week to infants whose mothers live and/or work at the city dump.
- Four Friends International has been approved as a faith-based 501(c)3 organization. As such, all donations are tax-deductible. Each January, records of charitable contributions for the prior year are mailed to each donor.
- Four Friends International gets its name from the four men who carried a paralytic to Christ. Likewise, FFI encourages people to "pick up your corner of the cot and do what it takes to bring the sick to Jesus."
