2020 Clinic Update

The Los Laureles clinic treated 454 patients in October and 463 patients in November.

The Los Pinos clinic treated 519 patients in October and 533 patients in November.

Therefore, together the two clinics treated 1,969 patients in October and November.

January

Charitable Contribution Records for 2020 will be mailed this month. If you do not receive this by February 1, contact Randy Stewart (256-302-4296). Thank you so much for your faithful support of this ministry! (Note: If a donation was made through a local church or through The Baptist Foundation of Alabama, you will receive a contribution statement from those institutions.)

The virtual Holiday-to-Holiday Golf Classic (from Thanksgiving to Christmas) has been extended to a Christmas-to-Easter event. A big "thank you" to the teams who have already played a round and submitted their scores. Here's how you can join the competition and help the clinics of Four Friends International at the same time.

It's a simple 4-step process:

1. Gather a foursome at your local course.

2. Play a round of golf together (four-man scramble format).

3. Include the names and contact numbers of your team members on the scorecard and circle the tees played.

4. Send your scorecard and a $340 donation from your team ($360 if your team wants to use 2 mulligans per player during the round) to: Jeff Fowler - 2810 Pineview Drive NW - Arab, AL 35016 - (256) 714-1203. (Note: Participants must send a check to obtain tax credit. Cash donations and donations on someone else's check are not tax-deductible.)

Scores will be adjusted based on your course's handicap from the tees played. Both participation and competition prizes will be awarded.

Your team's donation will provide ALL of the following: (1) medical care and medicines for over 60 patients; (2) two days of support for our Guatemala clinic staff; (3) utilities and office supplies for one week; (4) one week of diapers and supplies for 15 infants at the dump.

April

A mission trip to Jalapa, Guatemala is scheduled for April 10-16. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, only a limited number of volunteers can participate. If you are interested, contact Randy Stewart (256-302-4296).

The Holiday-to-Holiday Golf Classic (see above) ends at Easter. Scores will be published and prizes awarded in May.

The Advisory Board of Four Friends International will hold its first meeting of the year. Board members are Mark Brock, Keith Collins, Kaye Dean, Jack Hamilton, Shannon McGee, Millie Sebek, and Randy Stewart. Non-voting members are Jeff Fowler, Jackson Harcrow, and Leeah Harcrow.

July

After a postponement last year, the North Alabama Golf Classic will return. Pertinent information (date, course, etc.) will be included in future updates.

September

The Birmingham Golf Classic will be played at Highland Park Golf Course. Details will be provided in future updates.

October

A mission trip to Jalapa, Guatemala is scheduled for October 2-8. Hopefully, the pandemic will be over, and a large team will be able to provide medical and church support.
