Mark 2:3-4
And they brought to Jesus a paralytic, carried by four men. And when they could not get near him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him. When they had made an opening, they let down the bed on which the paralyzed man lay.

(I waited an extra month to send this update so that I could provide all of the information below.)

 THE CLINICS

The Los Laureles clinic (above) will celebrate its seventh anniversary next month. Since May of 2015, over 45,000 patient visits have been recorded here. All of the care, including medications, has been provided free of charge, offered in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. In January and February of this year, Los Laureles treated 748 and 689 patients.

The Los Pinos clinic (below) cared for 642 patients in January and 560 patients in February. Since it opened in October 2018, over 20,000 medical visits have occurred.

The Four Wheels Clinic (above and below) began serving three mountain communities near Jalapa in November 2021. Since that time, over 2000 patients have received free medical care. The mobile unit travels to two of the communities twice each week and to the other once weekly. In El Divisidero, 376 patients were seen in January/February. In Laguna del Pito, 316 patients were treated, and 209 patients received care in Caserio el Chorro.

The patient volume at all clinics has increased over recent months. Please pray for our dedicated Guatemalan staff -- four nurses, six office workers, two security guards, two cleaners, and one driver.

 OPERATION AMALIA

Last year, the number of infants who receive free diaper supplies each month was increased from fifteen to twenty. Focusing on babies whose mothers either work or live at the city dump, Operation Amalia has been a ministry of Four Friends International for four years.

 KIMBERLY IS WALKING!

As you may recall, Kimberly was born with both hips dislocated. Her family was able to arrange one surgery but could not afford the other. In July of 2021, with a deadline approaching, a successful second operation was performed, thanks to the generosity of supporters of Four Friends International. Kimberly has received physical therapy each week since November, also provided by our organization. Below is a photo from mid-January showing the progress she has made.

 APRIL 25-29 TRIP TO JALAPA

a view from the Jalapa dump

I will be traveling again to Jalapa April 25-29. Due to COVID-related travel restrictions and testing mandates, this will not be a group trip. During the week, I will minister at the clinics in Los Pinos and Los Laureles and in the three mountain communities served by our mobile clinic. Refreshments will be provided to the people who live and work at the city dump. A Wednesday night worship service and a Thursday evening meal with the clinic and church staffs are also planned. Hopefully, a team will accompany me when I return this fall. Details about that trip will be finalized in the next two months.
