4 Updates on the 4th

1) MEDICAL MISSION TRIP STARTS SATURDAY

Here's what in store...



Faith, Friends, & Fellowship: The people in Jalapa, Guatemala have become extended family to Four Friends.
October 7-13: The dates of the trip. The team leaves early Saturday morning and returns late Friday night.
Understanding Your Disease: Education will be offered about diabetes and hypertension.
Reaching the Children: Children's activities are planned each afternoon at a church near the clinic.

Free Market: A variety of items will be given away to the people of the church on Thursday night.
Reaching  Youth: The youth choir at the Jalapa church will present a worship concert on Thursday night.
Infant ministry: Operation Amalia, a new ministry for babies at the dump, will start this week.
Eleven volunteers: Phillip, Kaye, Joanie, Shannon, Leeah, Jackson, Estela, Caroline, Connor, Caitlyn, Autumn 
New Clinic: The unfinished clinic at Los Pinos will be used for the first time for patient care.
Dump Ministry: On Monday afternoon, the team will visit the garbage dump and minister to the residents there.
Support: The team covets your prayers now and each day of the week ahead.


2) CORNER OF THE COT


CORNER OF THE COT
This is the title of the new book about Four Friends International. It explains why the ministry exists, how it accomplishes its mission, and what can be done to help. It includes testimonies from some of the volunteers who have previously traveled to Jalapa. The book is now available and costs $10. 3) FUNDS NOW AVAILABLE FOR NEW CLINIC
Construction of the new clinic at Los Pinos, which was suspended temporarily because of lack of funds, will start again in October. Thank you to everyone who has been so gracious in donating funds for this purpose. Dedication of the clinic is scheduled for May of next year.


4) REPORT UPCOMING ABOUT THE MISSION TRIP

At the next fourth-of-the-month update, a summary of the upcoming mission trip will be given, as well as photos. The team looks forward to sharing the experience with you.
